On Today’s Show:
Earlier this week, the Secretaries of the USDA and DOI met with the President and the Director of OMB to discuss the upcoming wildfire season and the proposal to unify the wildfire agencies into The United States Wildland Fire Service.
I invited Senator Tim Sheehy of Montana on the show to discuss the Oval Office meeting, current wildfire legislation, overtime proposals, the new USWFS, and more. Senator Sheehy is the only red-carded wildland firefighter in Congress and has been working tirelessly to push forward wildland fire initiatives in D.C.
Many thanks to the Senator for his time to discuss these topics with the listeners. It’s shaping up to be a historic week for the wildfire workforce and industry.
