A new report, ordered by the Department of Homeland Security and conducted by the Office of Inspector General, found that wildfire sensors deployed did not detect wildfires as advertised.
These AI-enabled “sniffers” were found not to report nearby wildfires and were often fooled by wind direction. I cover the entire report, which covers the $3M deployment of these sensors in California, Hawaii, Colorado, Tennessee, and Canada.
