Happy New Year to everyone out there! On today’s show, I have my 2026 wildfire predictions and trends to look for.
These include some fairly straightforward predictions about the Initial Attack policy being ramped up again, increased use of large aviation platforms and autonomous aircraft, retention and recruitment, and the big one… a surge in wildfire betting markets.
Wildfire betting markets popped up during the Palisades Fire in California in 2025, and I have a feeling they will only increase until they are adequately addressed. It’s a free market, but there are clear issues that could arise if this trend continues.
I also review last year’s predictions made for 2025.
