Senators have sent a letter to Secretary Burgum of the Department of the Interior requesting that 13 questions be answered about the USWFS.
Many of the question revole around funding and how land management activities will continue if wildland firefighters are moved from the land management agencies.
They also reiterate that any movement of Forest Service firefighters would take congressional action.
The Forest Service issued a statement acknowledging PFAS chemicals in wildfire clothing. They cover the actions they have taken to remove these items.
I interview George Broyles, a Forest Service employee who filed a FOIA request to obtain internal emails about PFAS in wildfire clothing.
George goes over how he made these requests and what was found.
