It’s been a crazy couple of weeks across the wildfire world. The report came out about the East Ute Plaza Fire in Utah, where a wildland firefighter was burned during a firing operation. It was a hectic afternoon on an Initial Attack fire.
Two separate tree strikes, one involving a sawyer and one involving an engine. A dozer burned up on a prescribed burn that slopped over, and more. I also discuss the importance of having your required equipment with you at all times, including a lighter, which comes into play on the Utah fire.
Also, a full operational update. Most of the activity has been in the Southern region, which remains at a PL3.
