On Today’s Show:

  • The Guidance for implementing the Incident Response Premium Pay (IRPP) seems to differ from the intended execution of the law.

  • “The 36-hour problem” is causing confusion on how this IRPP is being paid out for Initial Attack resources. This ultimately is taking money out of the pockets of IA resources such as Smokejumpers, Rappellers, and district engines and crews.

  • The issue revolves around whether a fire is contained in 36 hours or not, and could influence decisions on fires that have nothing to do with firefighting.

  • Update on the Tree Strike injuries on the Orleans Complex in California.

  • New REMS Team leader qualification requirements have some medical resources concerned about operational efficiency and the quality of responding resources.

  • Full operational update. Over 40 structures were lost on the Burdoin Fire in Washington, and now 133 structures have been lost on the Dragon Bravo Fire in the Grand Canyon.
