State Farm, California’s largest insurer, contacted officials, saying the system is on the verge of collapse if rate increases of 22%+ are not implemented immediately.
The House of Cards, which is the California wildfire insurance system, is at a breaking point.
As of this morning, 20,000 permanent federal employees have signed the deferred resignation offer.
This is 1% of the federal workforce. This number is expected to rise into the Thursday deadline.
On Monday, an assistant commissioner of the General Services Administration told staff that layoffs across the federal government are “likely” after the deferred resignation offer expires.
