If you want the public and Congress to care... Maybe tone down the degeneracy at work.

The stories coming out of fires this month have been bonkers. It seems like Snaptember has reared its ugly head and taken ahold of folks out on fires. First and foremost, none of what I relay today involved Hotshot Crews, Smokejumpers, or Helitak folks. Second, folks can do whatever they want. However, I have talked to enough people in this industry to know that many are getting fed up with the lack of professionalism that seems to be spreading among some on the fireline.

The incidents this month even shocked me. There is a difference between being a dirtbag who is rough around the edges and being a complete degen.
