Since this winter, I have been suspecting the Cerro Pelado Fire was caused by a nearby pile burn in the Jemez Ranger District on the Santa Fe National Forest in New Mexico. Last month I wrote an article detailing Stephanie Haaser’s work on the nearby Pino West RX pile burn.
