On Today’s Show:
Forest Service Chief Schultz published a letter to the workforce explaining the need for interim changes ahead of “workforce reshaping.” The Chief set forth the temporary plan to maintain “minimum mission viability” and expressed that the workforce will look different by the end of the fiscal year.
The Chief said these changes are due to workforce shortages caused by the deferred resignation program and early retirement offers. There are significant overhead shortages across the IMT workforce.
Congressional members signed a letter to the President backing a wildfire executive order and asking that action be taken before the fire season reaches its summer peak.
Also, the suspects in the New Jersey wildfire arson case were planning to blame their actions on “Mexicans” but were caught because of Snapchat messages on their girlfriend’s phone. They don’t sound like very smart people.
