Monday Morning Workout: Coffee and Cardio
No excuses
I’m a big fan of espresso. I’m also a big fan of cardio. Often times I’ll combined the two of them. As the seasons start to slowly change the aroma of espresso dripping into a cup only becomes more potent, but so does the urge to bundle up an auger into a couch. I would suggest to fight this urge at least until your workout is done. My grandpa told me one time “do you see that old Ford out there, do you know why it’s all rusted? It’s that way because it stopped moving, we are the same way.“ Don’t be the rusty old Ford.
First:
Make sure you’re well hydrated before the workout. I prefer a protein shake with a little caffeine as well.
Loosen up, dynamic stretch, and find some good music or a podcast.
Run 2 miles slowly. Stretch, find your breath again, and ensure you are ready to go… This is a warm up run.
