Senate Passes Legislation Permanently Increasing Wildland Firefighter Base Pay.

The measure now becomes law, ending the constant threat of a pay cliff.

After three and a half years of punting the can down the road, Congress passed legislation today that makes base wage increases permanent for wildland firefighters. The Bill now goes to the President for signature to make the provision law.

This is huge, and eliminates the constant looming pay cliff that has been lingering unnecessarily for far too long…
