Today, I would like to give a special shoutout to all the Veteran Crews who have helped establish organizations for those who have served our country. It’s pretty well known that reintegrating back into the day-to-day grind after long military deployments can be extremely difficult for those who undertake this duty. These wildfire programs are second to none and provide these American service men and women with a badass place to work and serve back in the States when they return home from service.

I may miss some, so I apologize if I do, but shout out to these hard-hitting veteran wildfire crews across the nation.

  • Aravaipa Hotshots in Sierra Vista, Arizona

  • Billings Hand Crew located in Billings, Montana

  • Devil’s Canyon Hand Crew in Worland, Wyoming

  • Folsom Lake Hand Crew stationed near Folsom, California

  • Lakeview Hotshots in Klamath Falls, Oregon

  • Medford Hand Crew in Medford, Oregon

  • Spokane Hand Crew in Spokane, Washington

  • Vegas Valley Hand Crew located in Las Vegas, Nevada

  • The Mark Twain National Forest Veteran Crew in Cassville, Missouri

  • Helena Veterans Crew in Helena, Montana

These organizations prioritize employment for veterans who have served our country on the front lines. Now, these firefighters protect our communities from wildfires on the home front.

A lot is asked by those who serve our country, so today, a big thank you is extended from everyone in the United States to those who undertook this duty to defend our nation.

Thank you.

And what better time than now to crank out a workout to humble ourselves for the week ahead. I’ll be on a plane most of this week, attending wildfire conferences across the U.S., so why not be sore in the airport…

Run 1.5 miles. Use this to loosen up in the first mile, then push the pace on the last .5 miles.

Sweet, let’s do it:
