Hi, I heard this podcast for the very first time today. I asked a firefighter associate of mine to assist me in accesing and responding to this particular show after reading the teaser sub-headline about a "retardant war."

Let me be clear, my background is not in the firefighting industry. I have spent the past 20 years as a suuccessful hands-on strategic consultant to multiple different industries. I am near retirement so I'm not overly concerned about communicating what I have seen in this industry. As someone once said, you only have one chance to have a first impression.

The company I am currently with has been in business for over 7 years. We provide fire retardants and fire suppressants for wildfires and home fires. Komodo Fire Systems is one of only three companies in the country that has been certified for ground application by the USDA and US Forestry.- You talked about the other two companies in your podcast.- Our product is plant and water based (NO SALT!), non-toxic, certified safe for people, plants, animals and aquatic life. It is non-corrosive. Our core customers include the largest Utility company and the largest private firefighting force in the country. Currently we are NOT in the air. Komodo is privately held, and born with "an unrelenting commmitment to the environment, health and safety."

It is not my place to alienate an entire industry, but, it is my pesonal observation that the reason Komodo's superior product remains a ground-applied only product, with ample production capacity, while people are dying and the world burns, has everything to do with an entrenched 200 year old inflexible industry, an economically barricaded 70 year monopoly, and a government that talks a great game when the cameras are on, but actually affect very little real change. (There I think I've said enough to get fired).

I would like the opportunity to invite you to our HQ faciliity in Northern California where Komodo will be hosting the 2024 ASTM standards conference for unmanned drones. I would also like to suggest that you invite our CEO, a chemist and engineeer by training, as a guest on your show.

You mentioned that your two suggestions for lowering the fire risk represnted by essential utilities have been "shot down." I believe that Komodo offers other alternativese, and less costly solutions. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Fran Garcia

More ideas about power lines... use AI to figure out likely problem spots. Have army of volunteers and/or cameras stationed to hit smoke right away. Put non burning stuff ( gravel?) under power lines out to some distance and keep them cleaned up.

Fran, could you be more specific about how your solution would help with errant power poles and the wind?
