Most entertaining Wake Up yet! Thank you Tim!! Back in the day, (70’s, 80’s), the USFS was the best Wildland management organization everywhere, CDF (now Cal Fire), the BLM and all the other Feds all looked up to us, learned from us, followed our lead. Today Cal Fire is a leader and the USFS has gone to shit, they just lost sight of their motto on how “Care for the Land and People”, spend money like an open checkbook. My non-fire other half has received these emails and I have read them. I just laugh !!, I saw it coming. Even back in the day there was a tiff going around “forester vs forestry tech”. As per the Big Dog, he proved how stupid the many can be and thanks for the corny reply all. All true in your words.

Speedy recovery to those in the Cal Fire rollover!

Happy 4th of July to all even though my ancestors were all ready living on this continent before the white man.

“children;” “The Big Dog,” wait Snoop Dogg signed on?

That would be good for the “reply all.” A Lessons Learned write up. Especially in this age of Musk’s Twitter and short fast thinking. Definitely should be more slow thinking and deep listening.

I've been there on the reply all end. Learned my lesson. I am one of those -Ologists who started in fire, got out into Range and Botany, then got back in. I told the other folks and my trainees to engage with firefighters, get on an engine, be a heavy equipment boss, whatever, and learn what they know. I am 100% in favor of the WFFPPA. Yeah, petty shit.

Back in the old days when there was a fire on the Ranger district, everybody went to it, no matter if you worked in recreation, timber or fire a lot of those professional foresters learned a lot from the technician and change their career to fire management. Now everybody is a specialist.

Thanks for the operational update. Sorry to hear about the Cal Fire engine. Best of luck on recovery. Would be nice to understand a little more about the details that led to this incident. Another topic floating around that I would like to know more about is the discontinuation of LAL and Haines Index.

Well, this was entertaining. Can totally see how one click of a mouse can spiral into a smack down from above. I’m sure most of us have seen something similar. Stay safe, everyone, and happy 4th!

All the little "Ologists" that make up a preponderence of the organization these days can rest assured that any raise they might have gotten, or promotion, or lateral transfer, etc was spent on $100 million in EVs for Climate.

That should overjoy them and they should silently take their place in the monastic order, happy that they are are doing their part for the church, I mean planet. In fact I'm not sure why they're not tithing what little they do get to support the effort.

Speedy recovery to the CalFire folks. "toxic" is an understatement, unfortunately. I'm betting on a MANDATORY Aglearn session or two RE: Reply-All ;) Thanks Tim, excellent as always. Happy 4th
