When talking about the draining of the reservoirs it’s so frustrating. They did the same thing in Fallbrook, northern San Diego. There was no covering and the cost would be too high so they just drained all the reservoirs because it wasn’t covered.
Excellent conversations! Yes, I was one of those in the back of the buggy(we called them crew truck), a stakeside with a canvas top(haha) in my first year 1972 …. Now I watch my smokejumper son, continue his career, and I’m seeing finally some much needed change. Thank you.
Your comment took me back to days of metal Bullards and Filson vests. 1970 l was on a tanker on the Angeles then
on a shot crew in 73 in Az we had a covered stake side called it a cattle truck among other names depending on the road conditions. One thing those trucks did better than Buggies was make for a tighter crew in my opinion we were not split up you got to know people better. Thanks for your comment. I do miss those days.👍
