I cover the South Fork, Salt, and Penn Scott Fires in New Mexico that all started at the same time yesterday.
Up to 500 homes, businesses, and structures were lost after just one day, and 8,000+ people were evacuated. The Reservation where these fires started has been shut down, and guards have been posted at the entry gates.
California has multiple large grass fires. At 1 a.m. this morning, an injured firefighter was evacuated from one of those fires and taken to a trauma center.
Utah and Nevada are primed and ready.
