On Today’s Show:
Yesterday, all Federal employees were offered a deferred resignation package through an email from the Office of Personnel Management. It provides any permanent employee who accepts 8 months of pay and benefits and exempts them from coming into work. There is a one-week window to accept.
I cover this resignation offer sent out to the workforce and what will come after this process is completed. As stated in the letter, the consolidation of departments and agencies is likely. They state that even if you stay on, agencies and positions may not look the same going forward.
The goal is a 10% reduction in all permanent Fed employees, or more, through these deferred resignation offers. In November, I expressed that buyouts and mass resignations were coming. It seems they are now moving forward with that. It's probably a big reason why the Chief delayed the all employees’ calls.
