  • State Farm, California’s largest insurer, contacted officials, saying the system is on the verge of collapse if rate increases of 22%+ are not implemented immediately.

  • The House of Cards, which is the California wildfire insurance system, is at a breaking point.

  • As of this morning, 20,000 permanent federal employees have signed the deferred resignation offer.

  • This is 1% of the federal workforce. This number is expected to rise into the Thursday deadline.

  • On Monday, an assistant commissioner of the General Services Administration told staff that layoffs across the federal government are “likely” after the deferred resignation offer expires.
