On today’s show:

The Forest Service, National Park Service, and Bureau of Land Management have started rehiring terminated probationary employees deemed “mission critical.”

The National Park Service also issued a memo stating that it plans to hire 7,700 seasonal employees this year, more than the previous three-year average.

Also, a December 2024 Inspector General report on fuels reduction funds in the FS from the Inflation Reduction Act and Infrastructure Law questions over $200M in spending. Funds can’t be tracked, there are missing progress reports on grant work being done, and there are questions about overspending on salaries.

Big news all around.
