On Today’s Show:
The Lahaina Wildfire in Hawaii last summer destroyed the entire Maui town, and the ensuing chaos led to a mass fatality event.
After 101 people lost their lives and while the town is still rebuilding, the Maui Fire Department has released an 84-page After Action Review and official timeline of events.
I cover this document and its findings and then take the listeners through the actions taken during the initial response hour by hour.
Downed power lines, blocked roads, no water, fires reigniting, trucks not equipped, comms issues, and firefighters commandeering police vehicles to rescue fellow crew members.
Pure chaos.
